In June Wincor Nixdorf organized annual International Technical Support Conference, ITSC. Conference, where over 80 Technical Directors and Key Engineers from 35 countries participated, took place in Paderborn. Due to the large number of participants the ITSC was conducted in Parkhotel in Bad Lippspringe. Referees on the Conference were only top level experts of Wincor Nixdorf HQ.
According to European ATM Security Team (EAST) data, in 2009, criminal activities related to these devices caused damage amounted to 312 million Euros – which is 36% less than a year earlier. The experts of the Team stated that various ATM security measures actively implemented by banks have contributed to such change.
The Criminals Engaged in Data Capture were Detected by Using ATM Monitoring and Security Solutions
Using monitoring and surveillance solutions offered by BS/2 company for self-service bank equipment, a criminal group installing data capture devices in the ATMs was detected in Riga.
The last economical recession forced the businesses to seek measures to optimise activity, non-traditional ways to cut expenditure, and more efficient solutions to introduce the products and services to the market. Both global corporations and smaller local companies turned back to outsourcing. And the new ways of payment should stir this market even more.
